3. Can I do therapy online?

Yes! Online therapy has grown in popularity and acceptance, especially in the wake of global events such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

While online psychotherapy offers numerous benefits, it's important to note that it may not be suitable for everyone. Certain situations may require in-person therapy for more effective treatment.

4. Who do you see in your practice?

I see individuals, couples and all varieties of partnerships, as well as families.

5. How long is a session? How often should I come?

A therapy session is 60 minutes long. We wrap up around 55 minutes, then use the remaining 5 minutes to schedule the next session and process payment.

If you're looking to do more intensive work or are needing extra support, every week or every two weeks is a good fit for most people. As things start to feel more settled, it's common to move to sessions every three weeks, every month, or every few months.

It's also important to factor in how much time you have and what your budget is. Allowing time for integration between sessions is also important!

6. How long does therapy take?

How long you attend therapy is up to you! When you first start therapy, things can sometimes feel worse before they feel better. Sticking to the process even when things feel hard is an important part of learning and growth.

If you're finding therapy helpful and want to continue, great. If it's no longer feeling helpful or the issue that brought you to therapy feels resolved, it's ok to end.

Endings in general can feel challenging, and deciding how you want to navigate ending therapy can be therapeutic and an opportunity for healing and growth.

7. What does the first session look like

The first session is really about getting to know you and how you hope therapy can help.

We talk about privacy and confidentiality in therapy, how therapy works, and how I work as a therapist.

Therapists often call the first few sessions "assessment sessions" because we gather a lot of information that helps guide our work together.

And of course there is space to address questions or worries you might have as well.

8. Are you covered by insurance?

I am recognized by many insurance companies such as Blue Cross, Manulife, and Canada Life. I'm happy to support you in the process of navigating therapy coverage through your insurance policy.

9. What methods of payment do you accept

We accept credit cards.

Credit card information is securely stored and payment is processed automatically after session.
